What is sava?

In 2018 our Club Director Madison Walters, took on her first official coaching job as a volunteer assistant at Shelby West Middle School. There it was brought to her attention by the head coach that Shelby County would benefit from a volleyball club that would be affordable for families. She then took on her first 12’s club team shortly after the school season ended and got to work. It started with Madison, her assistant coach, and the small team that was assembled. After a couple months of practice, Shelby Area Volleyball Association was ready to play.

Beyond excited, but equally as nervous to see where this would take us, the season ended up successful, especially for first time coaches and players! Little did I know that there was such a great interest the following year, and the years to come. SAVA has grown to from one team, to 2, to 3, to 5, to 7, and is working on growing each year!

 

With the help of parents, the community, and certainly the amazing coaches that SAVA is blessed to have, we will always strive to guide, coach, and mentor the young ladies of our community. We work to have unity as a club to build strong bonds and relationships that last a lifetime!
